We are the Observability Platform team in the Infrastructure Engineering organization. The team is looking for a highly motivated individual to help ensure our internal customers are successful with leveraging the platform to understand how their services are performing. You’ll be working with a world class team of engineers, product managers across the organization. Do you want to make an impact on the world’s largest e-commerce website? We are looking for a strong backend engineer to support internal customers who are using the platform for metrics, events, logs, distributed tracing and machine learning based anomaly detection. This person will be responsible for handling support related how-to questions, assisting customers migration efforts, conducting brown bag training sessions and enhancing documentation. As a self-motivated and enthusiastic member of the team, you will work with extremely hardworking peers to not only support customers but drive improvements to the platform based on analysis of the most common issues and questions. You will work in an agile environment with a focus on problem solving and engineering excellence.


Responsibilities:

  • Answer internal customer questions related to how-to-use the platform
  • Assist customers migrations from legacy solutions
  • Setup and conduct brownbag training sessions in support of the platform
  • Collaborate with customers and the product team to develop innovative enhancements to existing product as well identify new solution opportunities
  • Produce clear, documentation helping customers achieve their instrumentation and visibility goals
  • Develop technical & domain expertise and apply them to solving product challenges.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of software support experience, solid foundation in computer science with strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Golang or Python programming.
  • Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or Other Related 4yr Technical Degree) + 2 years of experience.
  • Hands on experience in Cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS or GCP
  • Experience with open source projects such as Prometheus, Clickhouse, Grafana, Elastic Search, OpenTelemetry and tools such as DataDog, NewRelic, Splunk, and Sumologic.
  • Familiar with complex time series concepts.
  • Familiar with highly available back-end systems and services.
  • Must demonstrate a sense of ownership to plan, execute and drive the product deliverables to successful completion and be successful in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD is a plus.
  • Ability to think innovative and contribute to the success of the products, processes and customer experience.
  • Excellent decision-making, communication and collaboration skills.
